Contents Page Analysis
These Contents pages are from magazines releavant for my genre, I chose Billbaord and Rolling Stones magazine because they are the same in genre but layout is completely different in both, even though both use loads of small text, Billboard is much more cluttered and compact while Rolling Stones is more spread out, so i can see if in consideration of my magazine, what it would look like if i went down either route, also Billboard and Rolling stones use different colours like Billboard uses a bright blue with an addition of a kaleidoscope of colours on the left hand side on the 'chart music', so this shows me that, for my magazine, if i use bright and vibrant colours it will grab attention and guide the read to the page they want to while Rolling stones is mostly red and beige, this still grabs attention because the red is bright but isnt as powerful. Also there use of images such as in both magazines they only use a couple but in Rolling Stones they are spread out while in Billboard they are quite compact again much like there text.

What discoveries did you make about magazines themselves?
ReplyDelete- The contents pages where usually very helpful and well detailed to the extent where they where show you what the articles were about but not giving away a lot to make you read on. the contents also included small images relating to the articles. The writings typography was simple with bold outlining the headings. The colour schemes are usually simple.
How will this impact on the magazine that you are creating?
- I will defiantly include photos that are relevant to the articles that will be similar but I will use a lot more so its not over powered by the writing. I want to make the colour scheme brighter but not over the top using just simple pallet of colours and I will keep the writing similar, simple and readable but relating to the rest of my magazine.
